551 Series Cryogenic Vapor Vent
The 551 Series Cryogenic Vapor Vent (also called "keep-full" device) keeps liquid flowing in a vacuum-insulated pipe system by allowing the boil-off gases to vent while maintaining the liquid. Installing a cryogenic vapor vent provides the most reliable way of maintaining "liquid nitrogen on demand" close to the point-of-use. The cryogenic vapor vent is available with an attached electrical heater to stop ice formation and prevent condensate on the floor and ceiling. The heater increases the temperature of the cryogen and expels it as vapor. This eliminates the need for insulation or vent piping in a large discharge area. To prevent injury, CONCOA recommends installing the heater guard protective mesh enclosure in conjunction with the cryogenic vapor vent with heater configuration (5512104-01-1). For more economical management of critical cryogenic applications, CONCOA suggests the fully customizable CryoWiz cryogenic switchover system.
- Mechanical float valve requires no electrical or pneumatic assistance
- Vacuum-insulated float assembly prevents frost and ice build-up
- Check valve provides unobstructed flow in one direction and protects piping system
- Stainless steel wetted parts provide improved media compatibility
- Optional 1/2 in tube-style bayonet inlet design facilitates future piping system expansion
- Optional vapor vent heater eliminates condensation and ice build-up on piping and fixtures
- Internal thermostat on heater limits temperature and prevents thermal runaway
